Direct Connection to Discord Voice Channels Available for Xbox

Microsoft's November update for consoles brings new useful features. Among them is the ability to chat with friends on Xbox using the Discord voice channel directly. Now you do not need to use a PC or phone application to transfer a call to the console.

The update provides you with a direct connection to the Discord server. However, this does not apply to other communication methods, which still require the use of a mobile application. If your Discord account is connected to Xbox, you only need to open the 'Parties & chats' tab to find your friends. Please note that you may need to switch depending on the game you have selected. Microsoft handles Xbox and Discord member lists separately.

The Xbox Series X/S will also feature noise cancellation during calls. It can be disabled in the 'Options' section of the call if desired. Another change is the 'Captures' app, which offers you better management, editing and viewing of game captures, as well as direct transfer of screenshots and clips to an external drive. The application is located in the 'Capture & share' tab. Xbox Series X/S are getting higher data rates for captures in 720P and 1080P quality.

Microsoft allows you to choose from 3 platforms: Lightstream, Twitch or Streamlabs in order to start streaming live directly from your Xbox. To select one of the options, find the 'Live Streaming' menu and scroll down. In the 'Destination' section, select the appropriate option. A nice feature is the upgrade of the wish list. You will be notified as soon as one of the games goes on sale. If you share the list with friends and family, they can also buy and gift the game to you.
