The Rogue Prince of Persia – Combat, Weapon Traits, and Medallions Detailed in New Gameplay

In the latest update from Evil Empire about their upcoming game, The Rogue Prince of Persia, significant details were shared about how players can navigate and engage in combat across various game levels. The game, which incorporates rogue-lite elements, offers substantial engagement in both traversal and combat mechanics.

Players have access to an array of Primary Weapons, such as swords, twin daggers, and throwing weapons, each equipped with unique combos and special attacks. For instance, the Broadsword can propel enemies upwards, while tools like bows and chakrams, which require recharging through combat, add strategic depth. Additionally, the Prince's kick proves essential by not only stunning enemies when they collide with walls or fall into traps but also by breaking through the defenses of armored foes.

Strategic dives further enable players to smash enemy shields, enhancing tactical gameplay depth. As players explore, they can collect Medallions, which function similarly to Dead Cells' Talismans by providing various passive effects. These range from emitting a poison mist upon taking damage to ignite surrounding areas when eliminating a target, as well as boosting health upon encountering a new Well of Dreams.

These Medallions can also enhance one another depending on their arrangement, and their effects can be triggered by enhanced weapons. Evil Empire plans to continuously add new weapons, tools, and Medallions as the game develops through its early access phase.

Scheduled for release on May 14, The Rogue Prince of Persia will be available on PC through Steam Early Access, promising players a dynamic blend of strategic combat and engaging gameplay mechanics.
